Announcing Xage Visibility-to-Policy (V2P) Studio

By February 9, 2026 No Comments

Security teams in operational and distributed environments are constantly balancing two competing needs: maintain uptime while reducing risk. Many organizations prefer to begin their Zero Trust journey by establishing a baseline of observation. By first understanding what assets are present and how they communicate, teams can design policies that enforce least-privilege access control with more confidence and fewer surprises.

A new capability available through the Xage Fabric Platform, Visibility-to-Policy (V2P) Studio, helps administrators discover assets, understand real asset interactions and behavior behavior, and create access control and segmentation policies more quickly and confidently.

What V2P Studio Does

V2P Studio connects visibility and action in one place. It shows the assets in your environment and how they communicate, then guides admins through a simple workflow to create device identities—assigning each asset a human-recognizable identity—along with asset groups and access control policies based on observed behavior. This allows admins to clearly track, manage, and secure assets over time. Instead of translating packet captures or institutional knowledge into rules, teams can use what they see in V2P Studio to build policies that reflect how systems actually operate—and block interactions that are not allowed.

A common workflow starts by selecting a Xage Extended Protection (XEP) asset and viewing the assets and traffic interactions that the XEP observes. Depending on configuration, XEPs can operate in monitoring mode, where traffic is observed and analyzed, or enforcement mode, where access control policies are actively enforced. From there, admins can investigate specific assets, see who they talk to, and review protocol and port details to understand what communication is required. When they find assets that are not yet onboarded to the Xage Fabric, they can move directly into creating the right logical grouping and access policy, then push those changes for enforcement when they are ready.

Watch the workflow in action:

Visibility, Ease, and Speed

V2P Studio improves visibility by making asset communications easy to understand at a glance. Admins can filter by assets, drill into asset details, and quickly spot newly discovered or unmanaged assets. This reduces blind spots and helps teams focus attention where it matters most.

It also makes policy creation easier. Because V2P Studio surfaces individual asset interactions including protocols and ports, policy decisions are grounded in evidence rather than assumptions. Draft policies can be reviewed and refined before enforcement, which supports change-control realities and avoids trial-and-error that can lead to operation disruption and downtime.

Most importantly, V2P Studio accelerates the path from discovery to enforceable controls. It is designed to speed up onboarding and policy creation for greenfield deployments, expansions of existing environments, and newly acquired sites. The result is a shorter cycle from visibility to Zero Trust access control, with less manual work and more confidence in what you deploy.

Static policies struggle to keep up with dynamic operational environments. V2P Studio helps teams shift from best-guess rules to evidence-based Zero Trust, where access is shaped by the communications that are actually required. That can reduce over-permissioning, improve segmentation outcomes, and strengthen overall security posture without adding friction to operations.
