SailPoint governs who should have access. Xage controls and enforces what that identity can access and do.
Xage Security has joined the SailPoint Technology Alliance Partner program and developed an integration between Xage Extended Privileged Access Management (XPAM) and SailPoint Identity Security. Together, the platforms connect the governance decision about who should have access with technical enforcement of what that identity can access and do.
SailPoint can use approved requests, roles, and lifecycle events to manage Xage identities and User Group memberships. Xage returns current access data for discovery, certification, reconciliation, and remediation. When SailPoint revokes an entitlement, the corresponding membership can be removed automatically and Xage enforces the decision across protected resources.
“Customers should not have to choose between centralized identity governance and resilient privileged-access enforcement. Together, Xage and SailPoint connect approved identity decisions to precise, least-privilege access across IT, OT, cloud, edge, AI and legacy environments—reducing manual work while improving control and accountability.”
— Roman Arutyunov, CPO, Xage Cofounder and Chief Product Officer
“We are pleased to partner with Xage to extend identity governance into privileged access across critical and distributed environments. By connecting SailPoint’s identity context and governance workflows with Xage’s enforcement capabilities, customers gain a more consistent path from identity data and policy to real-world access, supported by reliable synchronization and shared visibility into access state.”
— Levent Besik, Chief Product Officer, SailPoint
The result is a continuous governance and enforcement loop that reduces manual work and extends enterprise identity policy into privileged interactions across IT, OT, cloud, edge, remote, legacy, and AI environments.
What You’ll Learn
- How SailPoint governance decisions translate into Xage privileged access enforcement.
- How the integration automates provisioning, certification, reconciliation, and revocation.
- How organizations can extend governed privileged access across IT, OT, cloud, edge, legacy, and AI environments.
- How the combined model supports contractors, remote operations, and federal mission environments.
Why Xage and SailPoint Are Better Together
Identity governance determines whether access is appropriate based on identity, role, policy, approval, and lifecycle context. Privileged access management must enforce that decision where high-impact work occurs. When those layers are disconnected, manual handoffs, inconsistent records, and stale access create risk.
SailPoint provides the governance layer for identity data, roles, requests, approvals, certifications, and lifecycle processes. Xage provides the enforcement layer, applying least privilege, multifactor authentication, just-in-time access, credential management and protection, session controls, and auditability across critical IT, OT, cloud, edge, legacy, and AI environments.
Together, SailPoint governs entitlement and access policy, Xage translates them into enforceable access and returns current user and entitlement state for continued governance. Customers can retain familiar SailPoint processes while extending them into remote, operational, and legacy environments where conventional access tooling may be difficult to deploy.
How the Integration Works
SailPoint governs who should have access. Xage controls and enforces what that identity can access and do. The integration supports a bidirectional operating model:
- SailPoint Identity Security can provision, update, disable, or remove Xage Users and User Group memberships.
- Xage User Groups connect governed identities to privileged-access policies for protected resources.
- Xage returns current users and memberships to SailPoint for discovery, certification, reconciliation, and remediation; revocation removes the governed access path.
Expanded Customer Use Cases
Automate privileged access across the identity lifecycle
An approved identity or business role in SailPoint can create the Xage user and assign the appropriate User Group, accelerating onboarding without separate PAM administration. As responsibilities change, SailPoint can update memberships; when a person leaves, it can disable or remove the Xage identity and access. This reduces orphaned accounts and stale privilege.
Use established workflows for privileged access requests
Customers can use existing SailPoint request and approval workflows instead of creating a separate path for Xage. An approved decision assigns the appropriate Xage User Group, where Xage enforces multifactor authentication, just-in-time access, credential protection, session controls, and other associated policies. Users keep a familiar request experience while security teams retain an accountable approval record.
Govern contractors, vendors, and third-party administrators
Contractors and vendors often need elevated access for work with fixed dates, changing scopes, and business sponsors. SailPoint can govern the identity and group assignment through existing approval and lifecycle processes, while Xage limits access to the required resources. When the engagement ends or approval is withdrawn, removing the Xage User Group membership closes the path without a separate cleanup process. This helps prevent third-party access from outlasting the task or expanding beyond it.
Certify and reconcile privileged access using current data
Xage returns users and User Group memberships to SailPoint so reviewers can certify current privileged-access assignments, revoke unnecessary access, and preserve a clear decision record. The same data helps teams reconcile approved access with actual state, investigate discrepancies, and bring existing Xage deployments into the governance process without relying on stale spreadsheets or one-off reports. Reviewers work from current connected-system data, improving audit evidence and making remediation more repeatable.
Automate revocation and remediation
When a reviewer denies access, a manager withdraws approval, or a lifecycle event requires removal, the integration can automatically remove the corresponding Xage User Group membership. This reduces tickets and manual handoffs, closes the gap between decision and enforcement, and enables precise remediation without disrupting other authorized users or resources. Xage continues enforcing the remaining authorized policies.
Extend governed privileged access into federal and Department of War deployments
Federal agencies and Department of War organizations are modernizing Identity, Credential, and Access Management as part of Zero Trust. The Department’s 2026 automated system-access initiative targets faster provisioning, immediate departure-based revocation, and durable audit trails. The challenge is carrying those governed decisions into mission systems across enterprise IT, OT, installations, ships, space and ground systems, and the tactical edge.
For applicable deployments, SailPoint Identity Security provides a FedRAMP® Moderate identity-governance layer for lifecycle events, requests, approvals, and Xage User Group entitlements. Xage enforces the resulting least-privilege policy at protected IT, OT, cloud, edge, and legacy resources, then returns current assignments for certification and remediation. This links policy intent to mission-system enforcement while preserving governance visibility.
For example, SailPoint can approve a service member, civilian, mission partner, or contractor to maintain a remote operational asset. Xage restricts the interaction to that resource while maintaining local enforcement during denied, disrupted, intermittent, or limited connectivity. Revoking the entitlement removes the governed access path. This model builds on Xage’s documented U.S. Space Force and Navy work. Each implementation must still meet the agency’s impact-level, authorization-boundary, hosting, and connection-approval requirements. Within those constraints, the combined model connects centralized governance to resilient enforcement from the enterprise core to the operational edge.
Customer Value
The integration helps organizations turn identity governance decisions into enforceable privileged access while returning actual assignment data to the governance system. Customers can:
| Automated identity lifecycle | Provision, update, disable, and remove Xage users through SailPoint-driven lifecycle processes. |
| Centralized access governance | Govern Xage User Group membership as SailPoint entitlements. |
| Access requests and approvals | Use existing SailPoint workflows to approve privileged access to Xage. |
| Access certification | Review and certify privileged-access assignments using current Xage data. |

An Enforced Identity Security Model
SailPoint remains the central identity governance platform, deciding who should have access through identity context, roles, approvals, certifications, and lifecycle events. Xage enforces how approved identities interact with protected resources and returns actual access data for continued governance. This continuous loop connects decisions to enforcement, reduces manual work, and extends identity governance into the critical environments where privileged actions have the greatest consequences.
