Xage for Energy: Systemic Tamperproofing for Secure Energy Operations

By May 14, 2018 No Comments

Today we announce Xage for Energy, the first industrial solution to incorporate Xage’s new systemic tamperproofing technology.

The Xage security fabric was created to protect the industrial internet of things, delivering distributed blockchain-protected authentication, enrollment and cybersecurity enforcement at industrial sites.

Now, we have extended our blockchain tamperproofing beyond the security system to prevent hackers tampering with vulnerable industrial control systems and devices. Our new patented fingerprinting technology, anchored in the Xage fabric, applies distributed and scalable security to existing industrial systems, enabling energy companies to solve the operational and security challenges arising from increasing levels of connectivity and cyberattacks.

Industrial control systems are becoming more interconnected than ever to support remote access, automated decision making and deeper production optimization. Yet, many operators remain reliant on vulnerable SCADA and DCS implementations for their process control.

As attacks increase, many energy companies are discovering that the cost of a cyberattack in crew time, equipment updates, restart expenses and production delays is often many times the cost of effective cyber defense. Given the risk of a larger attack wiping out production across thousands of wells, solar facilities, or wind farms, the need for distributed tamperproofing across control systems is becoming mission-critical.

Xage for Energy protects SCADA, DCS, HMI, RTU, and PLC systems from malware and other cyberattacks, maximizing uptime and minimizing maintenance costs.

Operators no longer need to spend significant time and resources attempting to provide limited security through network configuration. As a scalable, application-layer security solution that protects systems against single points of failure, Xage for Energy enables energy companies to achieve truly secure, highly available, and efficient operations.
